Job Title: Assistant Manager
Hours of Work: Full Time

The day to day operation of the unit in accordance with the requirements of the company, legislation and ensure effective planning and implementation of our core values at all times.
To maintain a high standard relating to health and safety. To ensure strict control of monies taken in exchange for services and that the maximum profit is obtained whilst operating to the required company standards. Support and oversee Duty Manager team and all unit staff

The Role

Assist the General Manager

  • To oversee the unit operation to its entirety. Maintain a highly motivated Management and Staff team
  • To monitor staffing issues and deal with problems in the appropriate manner. Take proactive action in relation to staff turnover.
  • It is your responsibility to provide leadership and promote responsible attitudes towards Health & Safety. Ensure all new employees are given induction training on all aspects required before carrying out any role
  • To provide analytical information following review of stock audits and financial information to enable the General Manager to make decisions related to retail performance
  • It is important to advertise as market your facilities to enable to business to progress. To utilise the support of local companies including free newspapers, buses, bus stops, bill boards and information stands. Promote any up and coming special events to the best of your ability. This will ensure we get the best out of our units with greater income levels.


In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed, the jobholder is required to perform other reasonable duties that have been assigned to them as an individual.

Job Title: Cafe Assistant
Hours of Work: Part Time
Salary:

As a Cafe staff member you will be constantly interacting with customers and other staff members including Management. Your main aim is to ensure all products are available for purchase and they are served in a timely and presentable manner.

The Role

Smooth running of the Café including both the kitchen and seating areas

The applicant will meet the following criteria;

  • Operation of the till as and when required during your shift
  • General cleaning duties within the kitchen & seating areas
  • Ensure that tables are cleared, wiped down and bins emptied when required
  • Prepare hot and cold food as and when required
  • Be polite and courteous to customers & colleagues at all times
  • Be able to deal with minor customer complaints or concerns in a calm and collective manner
  • You may also be asked to operate another food or drink outlet within the facility at Ice Hockey or other events
  • You will assist with the safe evacuation of the café in the event of an emergency evacuation
  • You will make sure that you attend your shift at all times in a well presented manner and wear the company uniform whilst on duty
  • You must attend all staff training sessions scheduled.
  • You will help assist with any specific café daily weekly check sheets
  • You must periodically probe food ensuring the temperature has reached 75 degrees
  • Carry out probe tests for the fridges and freezers
  • Complete the SFBB checks
  • You must always maintain the highest levels of hygiene
  • You must not wear any nail varnish
  • Your hair must be kept away from your face by wearing the hat provided
  • Hands must be washed prior to the start of work and after eating, drinking, smoking or handling any non-food item


There may be times when you are required to undertake duties and responsibilities within other departments to assist in the smooth running of the operation.

Job Title: Receptionist
Hours of Work: Part Time
Salary:

As receptionist you are the first point of contact for all customers and visitors to Silverblades. You will provide a professional and efficient service. You will also be required to wear the correct uniform and name badge. You must present an excellent customer service manner at all times.

The Role

Operating and maintaining all areas of the reception area & the entrance in its entirety. Ensuring our customers receive a good impression and friendly service at all times. This involves ensuring that no other employees are in the reception area when not required. You must ensure that the area is left clear to show our customers you are available to deal with them first time, every time

The applicant will meet the following criteria;

  • You are responsible for dealing with all customer queries in relation to Silverblades. This will be face to face, by telephone and email
  • You will be responsible for any reporting to your Manager or the Duty Manager any problems or faults with regards to health & safety. This should be done at the earliest opportunity
  • You are responsible for correctly operating the tills, handling cash and using the PDQ machines
  • You should have a full working knowledge of all available products. This includes courses, times, pricing and promotions
  • Answering the telephone in a timely and professional manner, assisting with any queries and responding to messages
  • To accurately handle cash & credit card transactions to ensure that your till is correct at all times
  • On your opening shift you are responsible for holding keys and opening the fire exits, preparing your float and till and complete all morning checks
  • You will assist in controlling the customers when entering the facility, you should ensure you have a radio at all times
  • You are required to take bookings for parties, groups and LTS lessons. You must ensure that all confirmations and deposits are completed accordingly
  • You should be upselling merchandise as well as meal deals and our Ice Card membership
  • You are required to log all verbal and written complaints, ensuring that you also record the closure of any issues raised
  • You are responsible for ensuring the reception desk is kept clean and tidy at all times
  • To assist with marketing administration and data input as required
  • You should ensure a full stock of correct documentation is held in the reception area
  • You must ensure all visitors to the rink are completing the visitors book. Any visitors for maintenance, please ensure the Maintenance Manager is available to deal promptly and hand them any contractual paperwork that is necessary for the contractor to be on site
  • Ensure management are informed of any customer issues or complaints
  • You must ensure all merchandise has been put away at the end of your night shift


You'll need some customer service experience, perhaps as a sales or retail assistant, crew member or in a similar kind of role

What really matters is that you're a hard worker who's always willing to get stuck in and support your team. Excellent communication skills are a must too, plus plenty of energy, enthusiasm and a passion for providing a superb customer experience.

It will be required that you are available to work flexible shift patterns e.g morning shifts, evening shifts and weekends.

A Food Hygiene qualification is desirable but not essential as full training will be given.

Job Title: Party Hosts

The Role

As a party host you are responsible for all parties. You are in charge of the bookings along with the reception team. You need to meet and great all parties upon arrival, and arrange their meals accordingly. You have a responsibility to keep in contact with the party organiser and assist with any issues or question.

You are in charge of setting up the eating area/party room for each and every party. You will provide a professional and efficient service. You will also be required to wear the correct uniform,looking presentable at all times. You are to ensure every party runs smoothly and you represent the company and the product well.

The applicant will meet the following criteria;

  • Carrying out food preparation
  • Being up to date with product knowledge and marketing initiatives
  • Be fun, outgoing and confident
  • Observing all company rules concerning Health & Safety
  • Report any complaints/comments/queries to management straight away if you cannot help with what is asked
